Munds Wagon Trail

Once the main highway between Sedona and Flagstaff, Munds hasn't been passable to wagons for many decades. Today it's a gradual uphill climb for hikers and mountain bikers, frequently passing close to a creek bed with interesting plantlife, and taking you to two major rock formations: Cow Pies (a popular vortex spot) and The Carousel.

Trailhead:  From the 89A / 179 "Y" ... take 179 south 0.3 miles;
turn left on Schnebly Hill Road for 0.9 miles;
parking lot is on your left.
Length: 8 miles (out and back)   Elevation change: 1200 ft
Notes: Gets a little warm (and Jeep infested) during summer months (but if you go early in the day it's nice to walk up on the dirt road and back on the trail).
